Hailed by French critics as possessing "une voix ronde et agile, un visage mobile et expressif, une plastique enviable et un aplomb scénique irréprochable" (for her interpretation of Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro), Carolina was born in Taranto. She graduated with full honours in piano at "G. Paisiello" Music Institute and in singing at Conservatory "G.B.  Martini" in Bologna.

Her career was launched in Martina Franca when she won a scholarship at Belcanto's Academy "Rodolfo Celletti", which is headed up by Alberto Triola. She distinguished herself and in July 2014 she opened the 40th Festival della Valle d’Itria, performing
La donna serpente by Alfredo Casella in Arturo Cirillo's production at the Palazzo Ducale under the baton of Fabio Luisi. The following year she made her debut in the main role of Fiorina in Don Checco by Nicola De Giosa which was met with critical acclaim: "La giovane rivelazione della serata è stata soprattutto Carolina Lippo, deliziosa Fiorina cui sono dedicati tra i momenti più belli del lavoro di De Giosa, voce educatissima e di timbro squisito, che riascolteremo sicuramente nel proseguimento di una carriera importante" (recorded live by Dynamic label).
Carolina emerged into international scenes with The Fairy Queen by Purcell in Mariame Clément's new production at Theater an der Wien under the baton of Christophe Rousset with Les Talens Lyriques.

In 2015, Carolina was selected from 300 applicants to work in the 2016/2018 Junges Ensemble at  Theater an der Wien.
Carolina started the 2017/2018 season with
Arianna in Nasso by Porpora in Sergej Morozov production conducted by Markellos Chryssicos ("Carolina Lippo erfreute mit ihrem südliche Wärme ausstrahlenden Sopran, der seine Stärken mehr in der Mittellage fand" - Oper in Wien); over the coming months, her schedule includes Don Pasquale in Marcos Darbyshire production under the baton of Tscho Theissing; cover in Saul by G. F. Händel in Claus Guth production conduct by Laurence Cummings; Der Besuch der alten Dame by Gottfried von Einem in Keith Warner's production under the baton of Michael Boder; Così fan tutte in Christophe Gayral production under the baton of Stefan Vladar; Oreste by G. The 2016/2017 season at Theater an der Wien has seen Carolina perform in La scuola de' gelosi by Antonio Salieri in Jean Renshaw's new production under the baton of Stefan Gottfried ("Besonders Lippo schaffte es, die lyrischen und komischen Momente ihrer Rolle sehr gut zu interpretieren, auch die dramatischeren Elemente meisterte sie mit Leichtigkeit. Ihre Koloraturen klangen, obwohl sie kein Koloratursopran ist, erstaunlich offen und klar" - Bachtrack); Oreste by G. F. Händel in Kay Link's new production conduct by Rubén Dubrovsky; she performed Nina, o sia la pazza per amore by G. Paisiello at Teatro dell'Opera Giocosa in Savona conduct by Alvise Casellati and direct by Stefania Panighini; in September she performed as Marchesa Violante Onesti in La finta giardiniera by W. A. A. Mozart for the XXV Settimane Musicali at Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza conducted by Giovanni Battista Rigon, earning the review: "una Susanna eccellente, priva di connotazioni soubrettistiche, espressiva, ineccepibile nell' emissione." (L'Opera International Magazine).

Lehàr at Teatro Pergolesi in Jesi conducted by Antonio Pirolli; in The Telephone by Gian Carlo Menotti at Teatro Orfeo in Taranto directed by Fabio Ceresa and under the baton of Giuseppe Finzi for the XXIII symphonic season of Orchestra ICO della Magna Grecia; in La scala di seta by G.
